Existing-Equipment Interface Check

Reuse can save hardware and still add survey, retrofit, controls and responsibility work. Fill this in once per machine you intend to keep. What decides feasibility is not the machine’s age but whether the product state, mechanical interface, controls and utilities line up with the stage next to it.

Machine identity

Product interface

Product state entering and leaving the machine, including temperature Batch size or rate the machine actually sustains today Product presentation to the next stage: hung, racked, in trays or on a belt Observed limitations: bottleneck, changeover time, downtime pattern, known faults

Mechanical and layout interface

Infeed and discharge height, plus any transfer gap to be bridged Overall footprint, service clearances and access for maintenance Floor, drainage and anchoring conditions at its current position Whether the machine stays in place or moves as part of the new layout

Controls and utilities

Control platform, protocol and whether the program can be modified Available signals for start, stop, fault, interlock and status Who owns the controls change, the network and the safety validation Electrical supply, compressed air, steam, water and exhaust actually available at that point

Hygiene and responsibility

Cleaning method, disassembly requirement and sanitation cycle time Food-contact material condition and any surfaces that need replacement Who carries the performance and food-safety responsibility for the reused machine Drawings, manuals and electrical schematics available to share
