This is total running power per kilogram: main drive, feeder, cutter, oil pump and barrel heaters at rated output. It is not specific mechanical energy, which counts only the mechanical work the screws put into the material and is reported in the extrusion-patent literature in the range of 45 to 60 kW·h per tonne. The two measures are not comparable, and a supplier quoting one against the other is comparing different things.
