1. How does your raw material arrive at the factory gate?

This sets the whole front end of the line. It changes more stations than any other single answer.

2. What actually cooks the piece?

Cooking by extrusion and cooking by frying are different physics, and they select different equipment even for snacks that look alike on a shelf.

Heat, pressure and shear inside a barrel The dough cooks and expands as it leaves the die Oil, applied to a cut piece A slice or strip goes into a fryer and comes out finished Extrusion first, frying later You make a dried half-product now and expand it afterwards Not settled yet The recipe work has not fixed the cook step

3. What leaves the line in a bag?

The finished format has to agree with the two answers above. Where it does not, that disagreement is the thing to resolve before anyone quotes.
